Our charter company was founded in 2012 and is owned and operated by Captain Anders Ekstrand. In 2023, we changed our name to Madeira Fishing Charters as we introduced a new and bigger boat called Prime, a Cabo 35 Express. Madeira Fishing Charters has developed to one of the most successful and appreciated charter boats in Madeira with hundreds of happy clients.

Captain Anders has more than 40 years of fishing experience ranging from fly fishing in the Nordics to Big Game fishing in Florida, Mexico and the coasts of Africa.

First Mate David Fraga joined the company in 2021. David is born on the island and has been fishing the waters of Madeira for more than 30 years, giving him extensive knowledge of how and where to fish in Madeira..

PRIME, a Cabo 35 Express powered by two Caterpillar 435hp engines, has been brought up to all modern standards and are constantly being upgraded in terms of fishing ability, comfort, technology, and safety.

As for Big Game fishing equipment, our boat is loaded with the best rods and reels from Alutecnos and Shimano as well as lures from world know brands like Black Bart, Iland Lures, Bonze, Moldcraft and many more. We always keep or fishing equipment in top shape so that we at all times are prepared to fight a 1000lb pound Blue Marlin without any risk of malfunction. Backing, Topshots, Swiwels and Leaders are replaced on a regular basis.
